What Is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic deals with ever level of human performance. This includes our ability to perform daily activities.
Performance is directly controlled by the body’s chemistry. If your body’s chemistry is altered, you alter performance in either a positive or negative manner.
Your body is constantly changing its chemistry, producing different hormones in different amounts so you can perform the functions you need to do. When you change body chemistry you change performance, either positively or negatively.
Because we don’t know the proper balance for each individual at a particular time, if we change chemistry from the outside, it can have negative results. To achieve the perfect harmony and body chemistry, the changes can only come from the body’s own glands producing the right chemicals, in the right amount at the right time.
These glands are controlled by the central nervous system. This includes the brain and spinal cord. The brain communicates messages through the nerves of the body and tells the glands what chemicals to make, how much to make and when to make it.
This nervous system is so important it is protected by a vault of bones. The brain is enclosed by the skull and the spinal cord is protected by the vertebrae. Unlike the skull the vertebrae are separated into 24 movable segments. This allows us to bend, twist and move.
If the body has trauma, then the vertebrae can misalign and cause interference to the nervous system. This is called a subluxation.
When the bones in the back are misaligned and nerve interference exist, then the communication from the brain to the glands are insufficient and the body looses performance and function.
It’s the Chiropractor’s job to locate and correct subluxations (nerve interference) in the body restoring the body’s communication channels and allowing for optimal performance and health.
